Ideal for supporting lighting gear, tablets, smaller cameras, and more, Westcott has introduced the cleverly designed Quick Release Mounting Kit. Able to support up to 8 lb, the kit is built around a heavy-duty clamp with a maximum jaw opening of 2" and interior grip pads to prevent scratching the gripped surface. Attached to the clamp is a barrel that serves as a "receiver" for the included 3/8"-16 male straight adapter or the 3/8"-16 male ball head adapter. An additional adapter converts the 3/8"-16 threads to 1/4"-20. Now instead of spinning your gear on and off a thread, you can simply remove it by sliding the quick release sleeve. Additional adapters are available to allow you to leave them on often-used gear for fast mounting.
