Fomadon Excel (W27)

  • Description
The Foma Fomadon Excel (W27) is a two-component, powder (ascorbic acid), black and white negative film developer. It is designed for the manual processing of all types of perforated, roll and sheet negative films. Excel is highly stable and tolerant of fluctuations in temperature. It yields negatives with accurate film speed, fine grain and excellent sharpness, as well as higher resolving power and strong drawing of lights and shadows. The contents of both the smaller and larger bags are dissolved in 3 cups (700 ml) of water (68 - 86° F / 20 - 30° C). Once the contents are dissolved, add water until you reach a total volume of 0.26 gallons (1 liter).

One package of Fomadon Excel is enough to develop 12 perforated films (135-36) or roll films (120), or a corresponding amount of sheet films (up to 30 5.0 x 7.0" / 12.7 x 17.8 cm sheets). In order to achieve maximum yield, your Fomadon Excel can be reused up to 3 times. You may also develop 1 film and pour the used developer back into the unused solution. You can do this up to 12 times. This developer is similar to the Kodak Xtol (ascorbic acid) developer.
