The FV-1000 utilizes a 3-point solid steel deadbolt locking mechanism that can be unlocked quickly through the use of an electronic keypad. A secondary access method is provided with a set of two back-up keys. Included with the safe are a 9V battery to power the lock and mounting hardware for bolting the safe to the floor using the pre-drilled holes.
