The trinocular head design features an integrated camera port on the top, outfitted with standard C-mount threads to make it easy to mount a camera for capturing images of the specimen or to send the view to a camera or projector for classroom applications.

The head is equipped with binocular-view 10x wide-field eyepieces that, when combined with the objectives, produce magnifications from 40x to 1000x. Semi-plan (semi-planar) objectives present a flat field of view across about 80% of the center portion, so the only noticeable curvature (spherical aberration) will be around the edges of the view. The objectives are all parfocal and parcentered, so that little or no focus adjustment will be required when changing magnifications, and the center of the view will remain consistent between objectives. The lower LED illumination has a rheostat and is directed through a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm to give you extreme control of the light coming through to the stage. Utilizing current LED technology delivers higher light efficiency than a conventional tungsten bulb with a cool operating temperature that prolongs specimen life when viewing live material, while also being energy efficient to extend battery life.

A Siedentopf-style head is set at a comfortable 45° angle to the body for a natural and comfortable viewing position with a dioptric correction and wide interpupillary adjustment range—making it easy to achieve tack-sharp views and convenient for multiple people to share the eyepieces. Its dual-speed coaxial focuser features a tension adjustment on the coarse adjustment so there will be no slippage when the knob is released, and the fine focus knob is graduated, allowing differential measurements to be recorded.
