Their performance starts with the combination of powerful magnification and over-sized objectives. At 80mm the objectives draw in the copious amounts of light required for seeing in low light, or in heavy fog and cloud cover; while the 15x power brings distant subjects in close for detailed observations. The optics are fully multi-coated to maximize light transmission through the light path, with a wide angle of view to provide sweeping views despite the high power, while helping to minimize the discomfort often associated with using optics on rough or rolling seas.
