Generally speaking, non-stabilized 12x30 binoculars would be difficult to use without a support system due to their relatively small exit pupil and the appearance of visible hand shake that binoculars 10x and over tend to suffer from. With image stabilization (IS) of ±3°, you'll see the details of far-off subjects without the hand shake that spoils the image of nonstabilized, high-power optics—even when you're glassing from a moving boat or vehicle. An axis IS system senses the movement and compensates to keep the views sharp and steady.

Optically, Opticron utilize compact roof prisms and anti-reflection fully multi-coated lenses to maximize light transmission and minimize light loss and distortion.
