Due to its higher solubility, it is an effective substitute for sodium carbonate, where 13 parts by weight of potassium carbonate are equivalent to 10 parts per weight of sodium carbonate, and will help to achieve warmer tones in paper development. When substituting potassium carbonate anhydrous for sodium carbonate monohydrate, multiply the amount of sodium carbonate monohydrate needed by 0.90.
